Air quality in Bangkok has further deteriorated today, with increased levels of PM2.5 in the atmosphere, making the capital the 8th most polluted city in the world.
According to the Air Quality Information Centre of the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration, PM2.5 dust, measured at 48 locations in the city, has reached a health-threatening level, averaging 60.9µg/m³.
The five most polluted locations are:
1. Nong Khaem district, 81.1µg/m³
2. Khlong Sam Wa district, 72.2µg/m³
3. Phasi Charoen district, 69.9µg/m³
4. Taling Chan, 69.1µg/m³
5. Thon Buri district, 67.7µg/m³
The ten most polluted cities in the world today, ranked by their Air Quality Index, are:

3. Skopje (North Macedonia), 195
4. Delhi, 191
5. Kinshasa (Congo), 190
6. Ho Chi Minh City, 184

Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department forecasts that temperatures across most of Thailand will drop by 2-7oC from Friday until Monday, due to the arrival of a strong cold weather system from China.
Temperatures in the north and northeast are forecast to drop by 5-7oC, while the east and the central region, including Bangkok and the northern reaches of the southern region, will drop by 2-7oC.
Rough seas are predicted in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf, with waves in the Gulf ranging from 2-4 metres. Mariners are advised to exercise extreme caution at sea and to avoid stormy areas. Small vessels are advised to remain ashore.
