Family members, close friends, prominent figures from the entertainment industry and a large crowd of devoted fans gathered at Yang Phra Aram Luang Temple on On Nut Road in Bangkok on Wednesday to pay their final respects to beloved actor and travel host Ray MacDonald.
A deeply somber atmosphere filled the monastery grounds as the procession moved his body to the crematorium ahead of the final rites.
In a poignant display of devotion, the late actor's eight-year-old son, Mika, along with his younger brother, Maxwell, entered the novice monkhood (Buat Na Fai) to dedicate spiritual merit to Ray during the funeral ceremony.
Ray MacDonald passed away on August 19 at his home in the Phatthanakan area of Bangkok at the age of 49.
Autopsy results revealed severe coronary artery disease, involving three blocked arteries, which led to acute myocardial infarction and caused his death.
