Newly recruited personnel across all public sector entities will receive a second-year salary increase of 10%, effective May 1, 2025.
This includes an additional transfer of monthly allowances for junior positions, which will also commence on the same date.
The two-year salary adjustment plan was approved by the Srettha Thavisin administration in November 2023, with the aim of helping offset the rising cost of living and improving the overall well-being of public sector personnel.
It is also part of the Thai government’s public sector reform policy, designed to boost morale and attract more qualified individuals to serve the people and the nation.
Under the plan, the starting monthly salaries for newly recruited personnel will be as follows:
- Vocational Certificate holders: 12,520 baht
- Diploma/High Vocational Certificate holders: 15,320 baht
- Bachelor’s Degree holders: 19,970 baht
- Master’s Degree holders: 23,300 baht
- PhD holders: 27,960 baht
New graduates recruited in 2024 already benefited from a first-year 10% salary increase under the plan, with the minimum monthly income, including allowances, now guaranteed at 14,600 baht for all entry-level positions.
A total budget of over 16 billion baht has been allocated to support this two-year salary adjustment plan, which applies to personnel across the civil service, police, military, judiciary, and independent public institutions.
