The Thai stock market remained above 1,400 points on Thursday, with total trading volume of over 81.7 billion baht, as local and foreign investors reacting positively to the official announcement of the cabinet line-up and the opening of the Vayupak Fund for public subscription on October 1.
The foreign net buy yesterday amounted to almost 7.5 billion baht. According to the SET, the foreign net buy for the past nine days amounted to 1.17 billion baht, while the SET index has increased by over 120 points since it fell to its lowest point this year.
Finance Permanent Secretary Lawaron Saengsanit said that the Finance Ministry has projected that economic growth this year will be between 2.7% and 3%, thanks to the rollout of the government’s economic stimulus measures in the last quarter of the year.
These include the 10,000 baht cash benefits paid under the “digital wallet” scheme to about 14 million vulnerable and disabled people, the opening for public subscription of the 150 billion baht Vayupak Fund and the final passage of the budget bill for the 2025 fiscal year by the House yesterday.
He estimates that, during the last quarter of the year, as many as 400 billion baht will be injected into the economy by the government, for the implementation of various economic stimulus measures, which will help boost confidence on the stock market.
Lawaron said small investors can subscribe for the Vayupak Fund from September 16th to the 20, while corporate investors can do so from September 10th to the 20th.
The fund will be registered on the stock market on October 1st, and its shares will be traded from October 10th.
