All banks in Thailand, whether state-run or private, have reserved a combined total of over 131 billion baht in cash through their withdrawal systems, ensuring revelers can enjoy the upcoming New Year festival without worry.
Reporters learned this week that Bangkok Bank has prepared the largest amount, 40 billion baht, for withdrawal through its systems and channels nationwide.
State-run Krungthai Bank follows with a total reserve of 39.39 billion baht for withdrawals in both metropolitan and provincial areas across Thailand.
Other major banks, including Siam Commercial Bank, TMBThanachart Bank, and Bank of Ayudhya, have reportedly arranged cash reserves of 29.40 billion baht, 13 billion baht, and 9.95 billion baht, respectively, for their customers.
According to the banks, New Year travelers can withdraw their funds through all available channels, including ATMs, retail branches nationwide, or mobile banking services on their smartphones.
The financial institutions stated that these cash reserves are specifically catered to meet the needs of people and revelers during the New Year celebration period, from December 28, 2024, to January 3, 2025.
