Drug suspect’s cats seized in raid

The illegal drug suppression police have arrested a suspect, who is believed to be involved in a drug trafficking network allegedly run by Soradet Sonsiri, also known as “Kook Rayong”, who is already in custody.

Police also raided a residence, worth 35 million baht, in Klaeng district of Rayong, and made seizures which included six cats.

The registered owner of the residence, identified as being Kook Rayong’s wife, is still on the run.

Police Lieutenant General Chinnapat Sarasin, assistant to the national police chief, revealed that the six cats have been sent to the Department of Livestock Development, and will later be sent to the Office of the Narcotics Control Board, to be put up for auction, along with other confiscated assets.

Chinnapat also explained that drug traffickers use many ways to launder their money, one of them is to purchase expensive pedigree pets, or buying luxury items, such as brand name handbags, and keep them in their residences.
