Depression to hit Prachuab Khiri Khan today

A depression with wind speed at its epic-centre averaging 55 km/h was to make landfall in the southern province of Prachuab Khiri Khan province on Saturday and will result in isolated heavy rainfall in the southern, central and eastern regions as well as Bangkok Metropolis from today until Monday.

The Meteorological Department warned people in the affected regions, especially in low-lying areas in the countryside to brace for possible flash flood or overflowing of streams or creeks.

Heavy rain and isolated heavy rain is forecasted today in the central provinces of Chainat, Uthai Thani, Sing Buri, Ang Thong, Ayutthaya, Kanchanaburi, Suphan Buri, Nakhon Pathom, Ratchaburi, Samut Sakhon, Samut Songkhram, Bangkok Metropolis and its peripherals.

Eastern provinces of Chachoengsao, Nakhon Nayok, Prachin Buri, Sa Kaew, Chon Buri, Chanthaburi and Trat as well as the southern provinces of Phetchaburi, Prachuab Khiri Khan, Chumporn, Surat Thani, Ranong and Phang-nga were also predicted to face heavy rain and isolated very heavy rain.

Sailors and fishermen were told to exercise special caution when venturing out to sea from today until Monday because of rough sea though the department recommended them to stay on shore.
