The Centre for COVID-19 Situation Administration (CCSA) reported today (Wednesday) that Thailand found 13,182 new COVID-19 cases, the highest daily new case number so far this year, bringing the cumulative infections since January 1st to 307,616.

24 people have died, while 8,571 have recovered from the disease in the past 24 hours. Today’s new high followed four consecutive days of daily COVID-19 infections surpassing the 10,000-mark.

Bangkok saw the highest number of new COVID-19 cases with 2,757, followed by Samut Prakan (1,133), Chonburi (641), Nonthaburi (560), Phuket (425), Samut Sakhon (366), Nakhon Ratchasima (306), Ratchaburi (293), Maha Sarakham (277), and Chiang Mai (252).

Meanwhile, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration revealed that most of the capital’s new COVID-19 cases were found in Chatuchak and Dusit districts, with 146 cases and 94 cases respectively. Other districts with high numbers of cases are Bangna (93), Bang Phlat (89), Bangkok Noi (81), Prawet (75), Bang Sue (73), Ratchathewi (68), Phasi Charoen (62), and Bang Khae (61).
