Two former convicts, wanted by Chon Buri police on theft charges in connection with the mysterious disappearance of two Russian siblings, were spotted riding a motorcycle in Makham district of Chanthaburi as they headed towards Sa Kaeo province.
The two men, identified by police only as "Thong" and "Pong", were captured on CCTV riding a motorcycle at about 1pm on Thursday in Makham district.
The pair later sped through a road checkpoint manned by a joint military and police force in Khao Khitchakut district, according to Chanthaburi police. Subsequent checks of surveillance camera footage confirmed that the two men were "Thong" and "Pong".
Meanwhile, in Chon Buri, provincial and immigration police continued their search today for the two missing Russian siblings, 22-year-old Diana and her 17-year-old brother, Roman, with the help of sniffer dogs.
A motorcycle rented by the two Russians was found disassembled and half-buried in an old cemetery in Bang Lamung district, Chon Buri.
However, investigators found no trace of the siblings, who have been missing since Sunday morning after riding the motorcycle towards the motorway.
Police also questioned two of four men seen by witnesses at the cemetery on the night before the motorcycle was discovered, but they were later released.
