Cooler weather in the north and northeast tomorrow

A new moderate cold front from China is now covering the northern and north-eastern regions of Thailand. This will cause temperatures to fall by 1-2 degree Celcius in the next 24 hours, according to the weather forecast by the Meteorological Department.

In the meantime, the easterly wind off the South China Sea and the Gulf of Thailand, which has been blowing over the two regions, will cause rain storms in some areas before temperatures fall slightly.

A moderate north-eastern monsoon is looming over the Gulf and southern region and this will bring heavy rain to the extreme south, which may result in river overflows or flash flooding in low-lying areas and at mountain bases.

The southern part of the Gulf has rough seas, with waves averaging two metres high and over two metres in stormy areas. Fishermen and sailors are advised to exercise special caution when venturing out to sea and to avoid stormy areas.

Minimum temperatures in Bangkok and its peripherals range from 24-26 degrees Celcius.
