An intense cold front from China is now covering northern Thailand and this will cause temperatures in northern, north-eastern and central provinces, including Bangkok and its suburbs, to fall by 1-3^oC in the next 24 hours, according to the Meteorological Department’s weather forecast on Tuesday.

Minimum temperatures are forecast to dip to between 14-19^oC in the lowlands and 5-12^oC in mountainous areas in the North and between 16-20^oC in the lowlands and 7-11^oC in the highlands in the Northeast.

Minimum temperatures in Bangkok and its surrounding areas are forecast between 22-23^oC.

The eastern region will experience cool weather with temperatures forecast to fall to 19-23^oC while, on the Central Plains, the mercury is predicted to drop to between 19-21^oC.

The southern east coast is partially cloudy, with thunder storms predicted over 10% of the areas of Chumpon, Surat Thani and Nakhon Si Thammarat provinces.
