China-Japan-South Korea agree to reduce plastic waste

Climate change, air pollution and marine debris are the major concerns in environmental cooperation between China, Japan and South Korea over the next five years.

At the 21st Tripartite Environment Ministers Meeting in Fukuoka, Japan, the ministers agreed to tackle eight issues of regional environmental problems.

“It is highly meaningful that China, as a big country, obviously indicated it will take positive action on this front,” said Shinjiro Koizumi, Minister of the Environment of Japan.
