Phuket police are investigating the fatal shooting of a Canadian at a villa in Muang district of the resort island last night.

Police have checked the CCTV system at the villa, located on Viset Road in the Rawai sub-district, and discovered that, at about 10pm, the victim drove a car into the villa, alighted from it and was about to enter his room.

Two unidentified men approached the victim and fired more than ten shots into him. Several spent shells were found on the floor of the villa by police, who arrived this morning after having received a call from a cleaner.

Police said that they are yet to determine the motive for the murder, but are attempting to identify the two perpetrators.
