Cabinet approves visa exemption MoU for Thais and Saudis with diplomatic, official and special passports

The Thai cabinet approved a memorandum of understanding (MoU) today (Tuesday) with Saudi Arabia, under which citizens of the two countries who hold diplomatic, official or special passports can enter each other’s countries without a visa.

The visa free entry is for transit or stays of up to 90 days during any 180-day period from the date of entry, on the condition that the passport holders do not work in Thailand or Saudi Arabia.

Deputy Government Spokesperson Rachada Dhnadirek said that Thailand and Saudi Arabia plan to sign two more MoUs during the APEC Summit in Bangkok. One is for mutual cooperation in energy, which also covers the development of the renewable economy, low-carbon technology and promotion of energy innovations, and the other is related to tourism cooperation.
