Cabinet approves acting ministers to take vacant portfolios

Pending the announcement of its new lineup, the Cabinet has assigned some ministers to serve concurrently as acting ministers for the vacant portfolios.

According to Deputy Government Spokesperson Traisulee Traisoranakul, Deputy Prime Minister Wissanu Krea-ngarm takes on the economic affairs and energy portfolios, after the departures of Dr. Somkid Jatusripitak and Sontirat Sontijirawong.

Deputy Prime Minister Prawit Wongsuwan, in charge of security affairs, will also serve as acting PM’s Office Minister, in place of Tewan Liptapallop.

Deputy Finance Minister Santi Prompat serves as acting Finance Minister, after the departure of Uttama Savanayana.

Education Minister Nataphol Teepsuwan serves as acting Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research and Innovations, temporarily replacing Suwit Mesinsee.

Social Development and Human Security Minister Chuti Krairiksh serves as acting Labor Minister, a Cabinet seat previously occupied by M.R. Chatumongol Sonakul.

The qualifications of the proposed new full time ministers are now being checked, before the final list is submitted to His Majesty the King for Royal approval.

Traisulee said that the Cabinet has also approved the public-private partnership (PPP) contract for the construction of the Bang Pa-in-Nakhon Ratchasima motorway, Route 6, and the Bang Yai-Kanchanaburi motorway, Route 81, and the appointment of the BGSR consortium to build both roads
