Thailand reports five new COVID-19 cases today

Thailand has announced five new COVID-19 cases, bringing the total number of infections in the country to 75.

Public Health Permanent Secretary Dr. Sukhum Kanchanapimai told the media this morning that two of the five new infections are related to the group of 11 Thais, who became infected after sharing drinks and cigarettes with a friend from Hong Kong.

The three others include a Thai woman who returned from South Korea, where she had plastic surgery and went out to enjoy an entertainment venue in Bangkok, her younger brother, who lives in the same house, and a close friend.

Of the 75 cases, 35 have recovered, 39 remain in hospital and one died.
