Bangkok’s Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre reopened

Their Majesties the King and Queen presided over the official opening of the newly-renovated Queen Sirikit National Convention Centre this evening (Saturday).

The convention centre will be the venue for the APEC 2022 meetings and summit between 14th and 19th of next month.

The overhauled facility now has a total space of 300,000 square metres, five times that of the original, which was built by the Thai government and opened by the late King Bhumibol Adulyadej and Queen Sirikit the Queen Mother on August 29th, 1991.

It was also the venue for the meeting of the board of governors of the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund in 1991.

The convention centre was renovated by TCC Assets (Thailand), which has the contract to operate it.
