Bangkok and the North to remain cool on Monday and Tuesday

Temperatures in Bangkok and its suburbs, northern and north-eastern regions are forecast to fall by a further 1-3oC on Monday and Tuesday, due to a strong cold front which is still covering northern Thailand and the South China Sea, according to the Meteorological Department.

The department reports that Bangkok and its surrounding areas will remain cool and breezy in the mornings of Monday and Tuesday, with minimum temperatures ranging from 19-22oC.

Northern provinces will remain cool with morning fog and minimum temperatures forecast at 15-20oC in the lowlands and 5-12oC in mountainous areas.

North-eastern provinces will remain cool and windy in the mornings, with temperatures falling further by 1-3oC to minimum of 12-18oC s in the lowlands and 9-15oC in mountainous areas.

Rough seas are predicted in the Gulf north of Surat Thani, with 2-3-metre waves and 3 metre waves in stormy areas. Bigger waves are predicted in the southern part of the Gulf,from Nakhon Si Thammarat south.

Rough seas are also forecast in the Andaman Sea, with heavy rain in the extreme south, while sailors are advised to exercise caution and to avoid stormy areas.
