Asian Games 2022 ends with Thailand ranking eighth on the medal table

The 2022 Asian Games in China’s Hangzhou came to a close today (Sunday), with China leading the pack with 383 medals, including 201 gold, 111 silver and 71 bronze.

Thailand came eighth with 58 medals, winning 12 gold, 14 silver and 32 bronze.

The nine other nations on the top ten table after China are:

  1. Japan: 52 gold, 67 silver and 69 bronze
  2. South Korea: 42 gold, 59 silver and 89 bronze
  3. India: 28 gold, 38 silver and 41 bronze
  4. Uzbekistan: 22 gold, 18 silver and 31 bronze.
  5. Chinese Taipei: 19 gold, 20 silver and 28 bronze
  6. Iran: 13 gold, 21 silver and 20 bronze
  7. Thailand: 12 gold, 14 silver and 32 bronze
  8. Bahrain: 12 gold, 3 silver and 5 bronze
  9. North Korea: 11 gold, 18 silver and 10 bronze

Billed as the largest Asian Games ever, nearly 12,500 athletes from 45 countries and territories competed across 40 sports.

The next Asian Games will be held in Doha, Qatar in 2027.
