The Ta Praya Task Force, in the border province of Sa Kaew, has submitted a protest note to a Cambodian army unit over the presence of their soldiers in no-man’s land, Thai Army spokesman Maj General Winthai Suvaree has said.
The protest was issued after Thai soldiers on patrol found that Cambodian soldiers had built a shelter at a site in Klong Pang village in Ta Praya district on March 20.
Both countries have an agreement to keep the site as no-man’s land, pending demarcation.
The Thai soldiers talked to the Cambodian soldiers there, informing them about the agreement and asking them to dismantle the shelter.
This was not the first time that the Cambodian military have strayed into the area, so the task force decided to protest formally.
