A 23-year-old man plans to sue police in Nakhon Si Thammarat for detaining him for six days on an attempted murder charge, despite proof that he is innocent.
The man, identified only as “Puris”, said he was made a scapegoat by the police, who arrested him without solid evidence.
Puris was released after his uncle gathered and presented evidence to prove that he was not involved in the murder in question.
His uncle, Boonserm Thongsong, claimed that the police had ignored both witness statements and evidence supporting his nephew's innocence.
Nakhon Si Thammarat police chief said he was unavailable for comment.
