Two people are missing, believed to have drowned, and two others were injured when a jet ski collided with a long-tailed boat on the Chao Phraya River in Phra Pradaeng district of Samut Prakan Saturday night.
Chindanai Sae Lim, the jet-ski driver, reportedly told the police that he was driving the jet-ski with a 17-year-old female and her mother as passengers, after having dinner with some friends.
He also said that it was very dark as he approached the pier at Bang Krachao Temple and didn’t notice that there was a long-tailed boat heading towards him.
The two vessels collided mid-river, resulting in the driver of a long-tailed boat and one of his two passengers being thrown into the water by the force of the collision.
An emergency team, including divers, arrived at the scene to carry out a search, which continued until at about 3am, when the bodies of the missing driver and a passenger were pulledfrom the water.
