An award-winning male teacher in Prachuap Khiri Khan province is being held for questioning by officers from the Cyber Crime Investigation Bureau (CCIB) on charges of repeatedly sexually abusing eight schoolboys, some as young as ten.
The unidentified man, who was named as an outstanding teacher in the province, is also alleged to have taken pictures and videos of his victims and posted them on social media.
One of the victims, now 17, who testified to CCIB officers in the presence of his parents, claimed that he was sexually abused from his time at elementary school in Kui Buri district to when he grew up and was lured to the teacher’s house.
He admitted that he was not aware that he was being sexually abused, because he was too young to understand sexual abuse.
Police claim that the teacher admitted, during questioning, that he sexually abused his students in the classroom and in the library of the school, took pictures with his smartphone and gave them some money as a reward.
