Bidding will open next month for the contract to demolish the old Klang Dong Police Station building in Nakhon Ratchasima province, with a starting price of just Bt18,000.
The announcement, via the police station's Facebook page, has gone viral.
According to the posting, in-person bidding for the contract to remove the building, which is on royal property, will be held on February 10th.
Those wishing to participate must register between 9am and 9.50am, with open bidding starting at 10am.
Pol Lt Col Uaychai Promwong, an investigator at Klang Dong Police Station, said they have a new three-story building, which cost 22 million baht, to the rear of the old station.
"The new station is already operational, so the old one is no longer needed and we need more space for activities and parking," Uaychai said.
The winning bidder will be required to demolish the old building, remove and dispose of the debris properly, he added.
Prawit Warathanawat, who checked the old building, said he is interested in bidding, mainly because of the low starting price, but is considering carefully how and where to dispose of the debris, as required by the bidding rules.
