A German national, who was arrested and released on bail by Nakhon Ratchasima police last Tuesday on charges for assaulting several dentists, was found dead in his home in Non Sung district, Nakhon Ratchasima province yesterday.
Police are investigating the manner of his death. While suicide is a possibility, he was found with a deep cut to his neck and his room had been ransacked.
Police said that the victim’s Thai wife, who is working in Prachin Buri, contacted her husband’s friend to do a welfare check, because she lost contact with her husband.
The friend went to the house in Don Chompoo sub-district, but there was no response when he knocked on the door and rang the doorbell. So, he went to see the village headman and they broke into the house, with the help of neighbours.
They found the 41-year-old German lying dead on his bed in shorts and a vest. A five-centimetre long laceration was found on his neck. The room was in disorder, with multiple documents scattered across the floor. Two Rottweiler dogs were found next to his body.
The local police were then alerted.
Police were in the process of seeking the German’s deportation, because of his for alleged assaults on dentists in the province since last November. Police also claim that he has been undergoing treatment for mental issues.
