"Every opportunity is a learning experience. Be ready to adapt to the future you choose.”
This is the slogan Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra announced for Children’s Day on January 11th next year.
With it, she hopes to inspire young Thais to become powerful contributors to the nation’s future, according to Thai Government House online.
Meanwhile, many netizens and online news platforms posted photos of the young premier with her father, former PM Thaksin Shinawatra, as Children's Day is about three weeks away.
Celebration of Children’s Day in Thailand dates back to 1955, at the behest of the United Nations, when then-Prime Minister Field Marshal Plaek Phibunsongkhram issued the inaugural motto - “Conduct yourself in a way that benefits others and the community.”
Originally, Children’s Day was celebrated in October, but it was moved to the second Saturday of January each year in 1964.
