Air pollution in 44 areas of Bangkok worse than yesterday

After two days of improved air quality in Bangkok, PM2.5 dust returned to the capital today, with 44 areas found to be polluted with excessive levels of the fine dust, compared to nine areas yesterday.

The worst affected area is, again Ma Charoen Phet Kasem 81 in Nong Khaem district, where PM2.5 was measured at 67.1μg (microns) compared to 48.5μg recorded in the same area yesterday.

In Bangkok’s neighbouring provinces, nine areas were found to have excessive PM2.5 in the atmosphere today. They are:

  • Nakhon Pathom sub-district, 44.4μg
  • Talat Kwan sub-district, Mueang district of Nonthaburi, 39.3μg
  • Bang Phut sub-district, Pak Kret district of Nonthaburi, 56.5μg
  • Khlong Noeng sub-district, Khlong Luang district of Pathum Thani, 40.5μg
  • Song Khanong sub-district in Phra Pradaeng district, Samut Prakan, 43.4μg
  • Bang Prong sub-district in Mueang district of Samut Prakan, 39.2μg
  • Pak Nam sub-district, Mueang district of Samut Prakan, 53.7μg
  • Om Noi sub-district, Kraphum Baen district, Samut Sakhon, 49.2μg
  • Mahachai sub-district, Mueang district, Samut Sakhon, 78.1μg
