77 new COVID-19 cases and another death recorded in Thailand on Sunday

Thailand recorded 77 new COVID-19 cases and another death today, according to the CCSA.

Of the new infections, 32 are among those under observation and treatment and 26 were found during pro-active community screening. 19 people arriving from abroad and in state quarantine also tested positive for the virus.

Cumulative infections, since early last year, are 28,734, with 27,239 recoveries.

The national COVID-19 death toll is now 94.

The latest victim was a 75-year old bed-ridden woman who had high cholesterol and a brain tumor. Four of her family members were also found to be infected.

On March 23rd, the victim developed a fever and cough and was not responding to calls.  She was rushed to hospital, where she tested positive for the virus. Her condition deteriorated and she died on Saturday.
