71 constituency candidates in 31 provinces disqualified by election officials

A total of 71 constituency candidates in 31 provinces have been rejected by constituency election directors, after it was discovered that their qualifications do not meet the legal requirements, according to the Office of the Election Commission (EC).

After the qualification screening process, the EC announced that, out of a total of 4,781 constituency candidates from 70 parties who have registered at provincial election offices, 4,710 have passed the screening process and can run in the general election.
