586 new COVID-19 cases recorded on Friday

The CCSA’s deputy spokesperson, Dr. Apisamai Srirangsan, announced that 586 new COVID-19 cases have been recorded today, 573 are local transmissions and 13 are from abroad.

The new cases raise the total number of infections in the latest outbreak to 18,407, while the cumulative total is 22,644.

Currently there are 7,234 people still receiving treatment, most of them are in field hospitals, while 533 new recoveries have also been recorded.

No new COVID-19 related deaths were reported today, leaving the death toll at 79.

The latest outbreak has now spread to 63 provinces, with Sa Kaew and Phetchabun provinces being the latest to find their first infections in the latest outbreak.

The province with the highest number of new infections today is still Samut Sakhon, which found 548, 522 of which were found through proactive screening, bringing the total to 14,080.

Bangkok also found 18 new cases today, bringing the total to 820.

Meanwhile, the Bangkok Metropolitan Administration’s Health Office revealed 18 districts have been without COVID-19 infections for the past 14 days.

These include Tawee Watthana, Nong Kaem, Toong Kru, Bang Phlat, Bang Sue, Phayathai, Dusit, Phra Nakhon, Pom Prab Satru Pai, Samphanthawong, Pathumwan, Bangna, Prawet, Bang Kapi, Saphan Soong, Bueng Kum, Kan Na Yao and Nong Chok districts.
