Three core members of the Ratsadon protest group were sentenced to one month in prison and fined 20,000 baht each today, for illegal assembly of more than 10 people when they led a protest at Bangkok’s Ratchaprasong junction and at the Royal Thai Police Office on November 18^th, 2020.

The prison terms were suspended on the grounds that the protest at the Royal Thai Police Office, which lasted only 20 minutes, was just a symbolic gesture and was peaceful.

The three protesters are Arnon Nampa, Panupong Jadnok and Atthaphol Buapat.

A fourth defendant, Chatupat Boonpattararaksa, was fined 26,000 baht and sentenced to over a month in prison, because he has previously served prison time.

Other charges filed against them, such as violation of the Emergency Decree, being the organisers of a protest, blocking roads in violation of the traffic law and violations of the cleanliness law, were dismissed by the court.
