20 percent of tour bookings to Ubon and Pakse cancelled
About 20 percent of package tour bookings to Ubon Ratchathani and Pakse and Paksong townships in souther Laos during the long weekends this week have been cancelled after the dam collapse in Attapeu province, said Mr Sakda Piriyakitpaibul, chairman of the tourism industry council of Ubon Ratchathani.
He, however, said that the cancellations were limited and the situation would return to normal within a month.
He noted that Attapue province was not a popular tourist attraction for Thai tourists unlike Pakse and Pak Song which are endowed with natural attractions compared to Attapeu which is just a transit point for tourists visiting southern Vietnam.
